This LEAF locomotive was built in 2013 using an SW7 frame. The unit has been in service at a coal power plant in the southeastern U.S. since it was built. The plant has converted to natural gas and no longer wishes to keep the unit. The unit has approximately 6000 engine hours on the Cummins QSX 15 600hp engine. It has been in service until recently and was just inspected by the manufacturer’s certified technicians.

The unit was in a low hours, low demand environment before being traded in by a customer upgrading to an AEA Titan earlier this year. It currently has approximately7,200 runtime hours! The 4150 has just completed a major refurbishment in 2017 including: all hydraulic cylinders replaced or rebuilt, new air compressor, replaced train air system, transfer case and rail axles inspected for wear, serviced and resealed, couplers serviced with wear parts replaced, repair electrical system, new batteries, gauges and components replaced as needed, fully fresh paint and decaling, and refurbishing of the inside cab including controls, seating, insulation, and flooring.

This rebuilt 9TM has been upgraded with a rebuilt 4-53 Detroit Diesel engine and rebuilt transmission. Offering 23,000lbs of starting tractive effort single coupled, the 9TM is still a popular unit for applications who need reliable switching on a budget. This unit has been heavily upgraded. In addition to a factory recon engine, the unit the unit has had Automatic engine shutdown and train airbrake added.
