Andress Engineering Completes Major Replacement of Monorail System

In Early 2017, Andress Engineering Associates, Inc. completed the total replacement of an ACCO Louden Monorail system that included sections over 5 decades old. The system was installed only a few years after AEA was founded.

The client, a major chemical manufacturer in Midlands South Carolina, first approached this project over 4 years ago. Several challenges stood between the current system and full replacement. These challenges included:

  • The safe implementation of overhead work in an active production area.
  • The inability to shutdown large portions of production during system replacement
  • The need for proper engineering as the system had been completed in multiple sections over many years and original engineering documentation was no longer available
  • Detailed scheduling and budget restraints that had to be aligned with the facility’s operational schedule

Included in the project was removal of the old and then installation of all new current manufacture Louden monorail and switches.   Not surprisingly, we were very impressed by the durability of this aged and worn equipment.  The ACCO Louden design has proven time and again to be the most durable in the Patented Track Monorail industry.  As a long time ACCO Dealer the quality and durability of their products has proven to be key to our success.

Andress Engineering Associates Inc. was able to provide a turn key solution that met all the design challenges presented by the customer’s application. AEA Inc. surveyed the application, completing a full engineering specification.  Next we completed a section by section removal and replacement of the customer’s system, with current production ACCO Louden Engineered Patented Track Monorail. System testing and start up in accordance with CMAA standards was performed, and we provided final system engineering materials upon completion of the project

Also key to the success of this project was the AEA Project Team.  Leading our team was our newest Project/Sales Manager Taylor Majors who maintained a high level of performance in leading our staff, subcontractors and vendors.  The work was done in coordination with the customer’s requirement that they be able to maintain full production and was completed on time and on budget.

AEA Inc’s Strength is derived from an experienced Crane Engineering Staff that comprises over 65 years of Crane experience. Trackmobile Titan Raises Funds for Children’s of Alabama

Andress Engineering Raises Awareness for Hospital

DSCN0848Alabaster, Alabama: Andress Engineering Associates supports the Children’s of Alabama in a big way. On November 19th, 2015, Trackmobile® LLC released a special version of its most popular railcar moving equipment, the Titan as ordered by Andress Engineering. Making this model special, is that a percentage of the proceeds earned through its rental goes directly to support the local children’s hospital. To call attention to the special purpose behind this machine, Andress special ordered bright white paint and Children’s of Alabama decal’s highlighting their support of the hospital’s needs.

Andress chose the Titan Trackmobile Mobile Railcar Mover, it’s most popular selling and renting pieces of equipment, “due to its ability to gain a significant amount of attention and high visibility to both the general public and employees within large manufacturing facilities,” stated Mr. Armstrong.

The white Trackmobile will spend its first month in Theodore Alabama, before returning next month to Andress headquarters in Alabaster, Alabama. Once in Alabaster, Andress plans to display the popular rail to road vehicle at various venues, before it heads to for its next rental engagement.
